Proton exchange membrane, also known as proton membrane or hydrogen ion exchange membrane, is a polymer material based on proton conduction. It can transfer hydrogen ions from the anode to the cathode inside the battery, forming a circuit with the transfer of electrons from the external circuit, thereby providing current to the outside world. The Nafion membrane and perfluorosulfonic acid proton exchange membrane developed by DuPont in the United States are currently the most representative types of proton exchange membranes.
